One of the first cards of USSR was issued in Moscow in 1986. Optical cards was issued by firm LANDIS & GYR for the firms MMT and ENERGIYA. Series contains 5 cards - 5, 10, 24, 48 and 96 roubles. These cards are rare now. |
In 1993-1995 in Moscow the cards manufactured of firm EXITON were used. Two various pictures "logo and advertising of EXITON" and "logo of firm MMT", two variants of an arrangement of the chip, many combinations of colours of a background, text and plastic basis were used. Face values of cards 10, 30, 32, 60, 90, 96, 120, 150 bits. |

AEROCOM Ltd. (ENERGIYA) chip phone cards were issued from 1990 to 1994. Series contain 6 cards - 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 2500 units. These cards were issued with or within the serial number and with hole on price's part of cards (revaluation). |
ACCESS TELECOM, Inc., in cooperation with its Russian subsidiary, ATEL, established the "ACCESS Payphone Network" in December 1995. The ACCESS payphone card, which is usable in all ACCESS payphones, has been issued in several different denominations (125, 250, 500, 1000, 1500 and 2500 units). The ACCESS network has expanded aggressively over the past two years with payphones currently operating throughout Moscow's most prominent locations, in Sochi and will soon be operating in St. Petersburg. The first COMSTAR payphone card was produced in 1988. During 9 years Comstar has been issuing more than 40 different cards. Up to 1998 a magnetic cards ("British Telecom" type) was issued. EXPOCENTR (Moscow Exhibition Center) in cooperation with telecommunication firm KOMET were issued 3 cards (5 US$, 10 US$ & 20 US$ cost) for payphones which placed in exhibition pavilions. Approximate date of the issue of these cards - beginning of a 1996. In a 1997 the second series of cards with the same face values but with other pictures on the back sides of cards was issued. |

The phonecards of MGTS (Moscow City Telephone Network) were issued in 1996 by FRANCE TELECOM. A series contain 3 cards - 20, 50 (2 varieties each) and 120 units and one test card. At autumn 1997 card by face value 50 units was republished. On a new card circulation 100000 instead of 80000 copies is printed. |
The second series of MGTS cards was issued in 1997. This series is devoted to 850 years of Moscow. A series contain 5 cards - 3 cards by face value 30 units and 2 cards by face value 50 units. On all cards the various views of Moscow are pictured. In 1998 3 cards by face values 50 units each and 2 cards by face values 30 units was added to this series. |

The first URMET phonecard for using in Moscow payphones was issued in 1993. Series contain 2 pictured cards - 25 and 50 units (more than 5 varieties each) and 4 non-pictured cards with the instructions of use on the back side of card - 25, 50, 100 and 200 units (3 varieties each). |
A series of 4 cards (25, 50, 100 and 200 units) was issued in 1997 by firm ÌÌÒ (Moscow Long-distance and International Telephone). The card by face value 25 units also was issued with a error (mirrored image). Cards with the same pictures but with addition of an emblem "850 years of Moscow" later were issued. |

The French firm GEMPLUS has issued 3 cards which were used on firm's presentations in Moscow. These cards are very rare. |
